Rocío is a qualified-Spanish lawyer specializing in trademarks and designs. Before joining ZMP, she gained work experience in different intellectual property law firms in Spain and abroad, assisting and advising clients on all aspects of trademark and design rights in the jurisdictions of Spain and of the European Union (EUIPO), which she also does in ZMP.
In particular, Rocío is mainly responsible for advising our clients and defending their trademarks and designs in opposition, cancellation, and invalidity proceedings before EUIPO and the SPTO. She contributes to drawing successful strategies for our clients’ interests and assists in the negotiation for the alternative resolution of conflicts.
Other than that, Rocío is also responsible for the filing, renewal and recordal of changes in the registries of trademarks and designs, together with reporting and responding to official actions. She further provides legal opinions on the availability and registrability of trademarks and actively watching the potential conflicts that the rights of third parties may pose.

Passionate about the rapid evolution of disruptive technologies and the opportunities they offer, Rocío has participated in different events and courses on the subject and from a legal perspective, with the aim of expanding her knowledge and always keep learning. In the past, she has also been involved in pro-bono work for low-income families in South Africa.
