Marija joined Zivko Mijatovic & Partners (ZMP) Serbia in 2005. She is a qualified European Patent Attorney and Serbian Trademark and Patent Attorney, and she also works as a patent translator.
Before joining our team, she worked as an assistant to a professor at the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade, for four years. She also worked as a researcher at the Institute for Soil Science in Belgrade until 2005. Concurrently, from 2001, she acted as a patent advisor and translator for various law offices in Serbia.
At ZMP, she covers a wide range of activities, including patent translations in medical science, biotechnology, pharmacy, biology, and related fields. Her responsibilities also include patent prosecution, patent and trademark searches, addressing patent infringements, and recruiting and training translators, lawyers, and administrative staff in patent matters.
She passed the exam for Serbian Patent and Trademark Attorney in 2014. Marija also attended the three-year Candidate Support Project program at the EPO, passing the EQE exam in 2017. Since 2018, she has served as an EQE tutor. From 2018, she has been actively involved in the Candidate Support Project program as an EQE coach, tutoring candidates for various EQE exams. She continues to participate in EQE tutoring and lectures at different universities.
