Mirela joined ZMP Serbia in 2015. As a Senior Trademark Attorney, Mirela handles both contentious and non-contentious matters, and provides valuable advice on all trademark matters. Mirela’s focus is on clearance searches, oppositions, invalidation proceedings and administrative lawsuits whilst the well-known status of trademarks is of special interest to her.
Mirela’s experience in the IP field dates to 1997 when she joined the Serbian Intellectual Property Office where she obtained the highest level of specialization in trademark and industrial design matters. As assistant director, she participated in drafting IP laws, in particular the Law on Trademarks, the Law on Legal Protection of Industrial Designs, the Law on Geographical Indications, and the Law on Trade Secrets. Mirela also participated in negotiations related to Serbia’s accession to the EU and International Agreements in the IP field.
Mirela holds a master’s degree in Law from the University of Belgrade and passed the Bar exam before the Ministry of Justice. She is also inscribed on the List of Representatives before the Serbian Intellectual Property Office.
